Version 01 – The original 70mm F4 ConeScope was printed on the X-Plus in black ABS . Printed in 3 sections and joined using 2-part epoxy. It was originally intended to be used for guiding an Avalon M Zero. Only tested off the balcony in Bortle 8 Brisbane city and FOV and focal length did not provide enough decent guide stars to allow for multi star guiding in PHD2. A better solution was to use a shorter focal length 30mm scope.

Version 02 – Added a coat of white paint and a “collar” to better fix the lens housing part to the main tube. A new base attachment was designed and 3D printed to mount the whole assembly to an RS135E mount. Note in the QIDI slicer settings, the wall line count of 4 for strength and the small glue reservoir.

Imaged off the balcony looking east with the guide scope on the RST135E mount. Almost full moon. Used PHD-2 for guiding. Set up a new profile and did guide calibration at DEC=0. The bump in the guide graph is due to cats on the balcony and them being chased away.
