The battery clip replaces the countless rubber bands that eventually snapped after repeated use. Keeping the batteries together as a group is important for charging (ie they don’t get mixed in with batteries that have different charge levels). Also having the batteries clipped together in a camera bag means less likely to loose one. I went through a number of design iterations. Initially printed in red ABS then next white PETG on the X-Plus. The final design was printed at 150 microns (0.15mm, just under 60 mins) using mSLA resin on the Elegoo Saturn 3 Ultra. (could also add Pro Elite Platinum .. blah blah blah.. such stupid names modern companies use today to try and elevate their products)
